Villgro has made an equity investment in Windmill Health Technologies and will provide intense mentoring, talent and access to relevant networks, to help the enterprise execute and grow.

6 million children across the globe suffer from birth asphyxia each year. 904,000 die of it and many more are disabled for life. This can be prevented by basic effective neonatal resuscitation. Windmill Health, a healthcare innovation start-up, has developed NeoBreathe, an integrated resuscitation device that is easier to use, suitable for field conditions and will empower frontline health workers to resuscitate newborns effectively.

“We are excited by the impact this simple device will have in saving the lives of babies,” said Paul Basil, Founder and CEO of Villgro. “We are also looking forward to working with the entrepreneurs – a biodesign expert and a doctor – who are passionate and motivated.”
