On January 16th and 17th 2013, Dasra will host the Impact Investing India Regional Forum in Bengaluru in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation to promote dialog on India’s impact investing industry in India.
The forum, called Impact Investing in India: Accelerating the Industry Locally, will convene leaders in the fields of impact investing and social entrepreneurship from an array of stakeholder groups in order to foster a better understanding of the domestic barriers to and opportunities for unlocking greater impact investment capital originating from within India; and improving the sector’s entrepreneurial talent and ecosystem in India.
The forum will conclude with the launch of the Impact Economy Innovations Fund (IEIF), a pool of grant money committed by The Rockefeller Foundation and Omidyar Network, and administered by Dasra. A Request for Proposals will be issued following the forum, calling for submissions to the IEIF that align with the fund’s goal of catalysing collective action and regional market development in India.
