New platforms for fair partnerships between designers, artisans and users

DESIGNER = ARTISAN = USER

The final leg and third year of the current Sangam Project journey will be in Bangalore, where the focus will extend beyond the craftsperson and designer to include the user. ‘Samaanata’ means ‘equal respect’ in Sanskrit and other Indian languages.

In partnership with Collaborative Community for this year, we will focus on looking at existing and emerging trends in market linkages, new business models like e-commerce that links craft to consumer. There are new organizations and facilitators bridging the gap between market and craft ecosystem by streamlining supply chain, building resources for artisans, training, product development and marketing intervention. We are bringing diverse stakeholders in Bangalore and parts of India to participate in this event. We will explore tangible ideas and outcomes of possible partnerships between India and Australian beyond this event. The event will be a mix of quality presentations, panel discussion, brainstorming sessions, workshops and networking dinner.
