7 and 8 December at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad

On the eve of the Khemka Forum on Social Entrepreneurship 2012, the Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation and Amarchand Mangaldas and Suresh A. Shroff & Co., release the ‘Legal Handbook’ for Social Entrepreneurs.

There has been a significant increase in the number of social enterprises and social entrepreneurs in the last five years– all charged up with new ideas and innovations to tackle India’s most challenging social and economic problems. And as they work their way between not for profit and for profit models, most entrepreneurs struggle to navigate the legal maze that governs setting up and growing organisations in India.

In partnership with one of India’s leading law firm, Amarchand Mangaldas and Suresh A. Shroff & Co., the Foundation has developed a handbook focusing on legal compliance issues specifically for startups and hybrid social entrepreneurial ventures. This eleven chapter guide has been crafted as an open source or free guide. The objective is to introduce founders to these issues so that legal compliances can be adhered to and professional help sought to overcome legal hurdles.

Listen in to this podcast conversation with Anshuman Jaiswal, Partner, Amarchand Mangaldas and Suresh A. Shroff & Co., and Pankaj Jain, Founder, Impact Law Ventures as they walk us through the handbook and focus on topics that a startup social enterprise is likely to encounter.
