In India, food innovation technology has made a promising start, drawing an aggregate investment of $798.6 million across 103 companies since 2015.1 While the expanding ecosystem is yet to match the breadth of innovation and pace of adoption prevalent in the global landscape, evolving consumer preferences—that increasingly acknowledge the long-term impact of food production on people and planet—signal a favourable growth outlook for the sector.
